Elderly Couple in Telangana Files Police Complaint Against Sons for Harassment and Death Threats
In a distressing incident from Dubbaka town in Siddipet district, Telangana, an elderly couple has lodged a formal police complaint against their own sons, alleging severe harassment and death threats. The complaint, filed on Sunday, prompted immediate police intervention to address the escalating family conflict.

According to Dubbaka Circle Inspector T. Rajesh, the complainants are Kanakaiah and Rajavva, an elderly couple who have three sons—Naresh, Swami, and Ellam—and a daughter named Kavitha. The family owns a house and six acres of agricultural land, which appears to be at the center of the dispute.
The couple specifically accused their second and third sons, Swami and Ellam, of engaging in alarming behavior. They alleged that these sons frequently consume alcohol, verbally abuse them, and have threatened to kill them if they do not vacate the family home. Despite previous police counselling following a similar incident, the harassment reportedly continued unabated.
Escalation and Police Intervention
Unable to endure the persistent mistreatment, Kanakaiah and Rajavva were forced to leave their home. They spent four days living on the streets in Siddipet, highlighting the severity of their plight. Two days prior to the complaint, the couple sought protection by approaching the commissioner's office, seeking urgent assistance.
Acting on the directions of Commissioner Rashmi Perumal, police swiftly summoned the elderly parents and the accused sons to the Dubbaka circle office. A counselling session was conducted in an effort to mediate the dispute and de-escalate tensions. Following the intervention, the couple was sent back to their home, while the sons were issued a stern warning about potential strict legal action if the harassment persists.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation
In response to the complaint, police have registered a formal case against all three sons—Naresh, Swami, and Ellam—as well as the daughter, Kavitha. Authorities are currently investigating the matter further to gather evidence and determine the appropriate course of action. This step underscores the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating allegations of elder abuse and threats within family settings.
