CM Yogi Adityanath Inaugurates Green Corridor, Highlights Lucknow's Development

In a significant move to enhance urban infrastructure, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Green Corridor project and laid the foundation stone for various development works in Lucknow on Friday. The CM emphasized that Lucknow has become a symbol of its welcoming slogan, 'Muskuraiye aap Lucknow mein hain' (Smile, you are in Lucknow), reflecting the city's progress as a modern metropolis in new India.

Modernizing Lucknow's Infrastructure

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that the capital city of any state should offer residents convenience, ease of travel, modern connectivity, and robust infrastructure, all of which are now evident in Lucknow. He stated, "When the idea of improving connectivity in Lucknow was laid out, defence minister Rajnath Singh provided the vision for it. Taking that vision forward, the Lucknow Development Authority implemented this project." This initiative is a crucial step towards making Lucknow's traffic system smooth, organized, and modern, thereby providing better commuting facilities to residents.

Resource Management and Project Funding

The CM revealed that the state government did not allocate a separate budget for the Green Corridor project. Instead, the Lucknow Development Authority utilized funds generated from freeing government land under illegal encroachment and putting that land to proper use. "By generating resources from that land, this ambitious project worth about Rs 1,519 crore was completed," Adityanath said, citing it as an example of how large-scale projects can be accomplished through efficient resource management.

Comprehensive Development Focus

To develop Lucknow comprehensively, the focus extends beyond infrastructure to include sectors like sanitation, better roads, and modern arrangements. The CM noted that visitors to the city are impressed by its advancements. He recalled, "During the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, Rajnath Singh had given Lucknow the gift of Shaheed Path. Later, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the support of Union minister Nitin Gadkari, Kisan Path was constructed, which gave Lucknow a new identity as the outer ring road." These routes now serve as the foundation for the city's future expansion and development.

Lucknow as a Hub for Technology and Defence

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pointed out that Lucknow is establishing itself as an emerging sector in technology and defence production. "Due to the efforts of the defence minister, the BrahMos missile project was established in Lucknow and youth educated from AKTU, engineering colleges, polytechnics and ITIs are getting employment opportunities in their own state," he said. This development aligns with plans to create a State Capital Region encompassing Lucknow and adjoining areas, aimed at accelerating overall growth.

India's Development Amid Global Challenges

Addressing broader contexts, the CM remarked on current global challenges, including conflicts in the Gulf region and economic difficulties. However, he expressed confidence in India's trajectory, stating, "Today, there is a war in the Gulf region and there are economic challenges at the global level. However, due to strong leadership, India is moving rapidly on the path of development." He affirmed that Uttar Pradesh will play a significant role as India's growth engine, with the government working to develop Lucknow as a center of connectivity, investment, technology, and modern infrastructure.
