Pawan Kalyan Directs Jana Sena Legislators on Delimitation and Electoral Strategy
In a significant address to the Jana Sena legislative party meeting in Vijayawada, Deputy Chief Minister and party president Pawan Kalyan called on party members to adopt a realistic and people-centric approach to the upcoming constituency delimitation and electoral challenges. The meeting, held on Tuesday, lasted three hours and focused on strengthening the party's political strategy ahead of key elections.
Emphasis on Transparency and Public Interest
Pawan Kalyan stressed that public interest must remain the core guiding principle in all political decisions. Referring to controversies during the 2009 delimitation exercise, he urged leaders to ensure transparency and fairness in the process. He welcomed the Centre's move to increase assembly and Parliament seats by nearly 50 percent, noting that this expansion—which includes 88 assembly seats and up to 12 Lok Sabha seats—will open opportunities for broader representation in Andhra Pradesh.
Formation of Dedicated Committee
To navigate the delimitation exercise effectively, Pawan Kalyan suggested forming a dedicated committee under PAC chairman Nadendla Manohar. This committee will study the delimitation process in detail and guide the party's strategy, ensuring that Jana Sena's approach is well-informed and aligned with constitutional requirements.
Preparations for Local Body Elections
With local body elections approaching, the Jana Sena chief asked party leaders to gear up for what he termed a "local battle." He emphasized the importance of coordination with alliance partners and maintaining a clear focus on victory. "We must work with determination so that the party flag flies high wherever we contest," he stated, underscoring the need for a unified effort across constituencies.
Grassroots Engagement and Membership Expansion
Highlighting the need for stronger grassroots engagement, Pawan Kalyan directed public representatives to dedicate at least one day a week to interact directly with people and address their grievances. He remarked, "Only when the party is strong can public representatives be strong," urging leaders to expand membership and stay connected with all sections of society, including farmers, workers, women, and youth.
Focus on Development and Youth Empowerment
Pawan Kalyan also called for special constituency development plans focusing on employment, agriculture, and industrial growth. Emphasizing youth engagement, he urged leaders to understand Gen Z aspirations and equip them with skills for emerging industries, ensuring that the party remains relevant to younger voters.
Internal Coordination and Future Plans
The meeting concluded with discussions on strengthening internal coordination. The leadership plans to implement regular monthly reviews to monitor progress and align party activities with public expectations, ensuring that Jana Sena remains responsive and effective in its political endeavors.
