Police Apprehend Three Loot Accused in Ballia Following Intense Firefight
In a dramatic late-night operation, police in Ballia district arrested three men accused of loot on Monday, following an exchange of fire that resulted in two of the suspects sustaining bullet injuries to their legs. According to Ballia ASP (south) Kripa Shankar, Bairiya police personnel were conducting routine patrols when they received a critical tip-off about the presence of three wanted criminals near Budhanchak. Upon realizing they were surrounded by law enforcement, the criminals initiated gunfire, prompting a retaliatory response from the police. In the ensuing skirmish, two of the accused, identified as Punit Kumar (23) from Chand Diyar and Chandan alias Mahi (24) from Rakba Tola Bairiya, suffered bullet wounds to their legs. Their third accomplice, Raghav Pandey of Rakba Tola, attempted to flee the scene on a motorcycle but was swiftly apprehended by the alert police officers.

The seized items included firearms, multiple cartridges, mobile phones, and looted gold chains along with other valuable jewellery.
