On Monday, authorities arrested a 52-year-old man and officially registered a criminal case against his wife and son. According to police reports, the attack left four victims with significant and severe injuries. Sequence of Events Leading to the Attack

A senior officer from the Nigdi police provided a detailed account. The situation began when the complainant and two of his friends were engaged in a casual conversation in their society's parking lot. The atmosphere turned hostile when a woman and her son approached the group.

The confrontation escalated rapidly. The son allegedly snatched the glasses off one friend's face, which immediately sparked a heated argument. The woman then reportedly grabbed the glasses, broke them, and physically assaulted the complainant's other friend.

Hearing the commotion, the parents of the complainant rushed to the parking area. By this time, the woman's husband had also arrived on the scene. The trio—the woman, her son, and her husband—then allegedly turned their aggression towards the elderly parents, assaulting them.

Weapon Introduced, Injuries Inflicted

The situation took a dangerously violent turn. The accused husband, in a fit of rage, retreated to his apartment. He returned moments later armed with a billhook, a large cutting tool with a curved blade.

"He then used the billhook to assault the complainant and his friend," the police officer stated. "When the complainant's cousin attempted to intervene and stop the attack, he too was injured by the weapon."

In total, four individuals sustained injuries from the billhook assault. As other residents of the society gathered and tried to intervene, the accused family threatened them with dire consequences before fleeing the location.

Police Investigation and Ongoing Search

The Nigdi police have confirmed the arrest of the 52-year-old husband in connection with the violent attack. However, the search continues for his wife and son, who are also named in the First Information Report (FIR) and are currently evading authorities.

"We have arrested one of the three suspects. A search is actively on for the two others," the investigating officer confirmed, assuring that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused and ensure they face the full extent of the law.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community in Nigdi, raising serious concerns about safety and dispute resolution within residential complexes. The police are investigating all angles of the quarrel and the subsequent violent attack.
