Delhi University Student Arrested for Alleged Hotel Murder in Lahori Gate
A 24-year-old student from Delhi University has been arrested by police for allegedly killing a woman at a hotel in north Delhi's Lahori Gate area on Thursday. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised serious questions about personal relationships turning violent.
Details of the Crime Scene
Police officials reported receiving critical information around 12:30 AM that a guest at the hotel was not responding despite repeated knocking attempts by staff members. Hotel employees became concerned when the room remained securely locked with no response from inside, prompting them to alert beat officers immediately.
A specialized police team swiftly reached the location and, with assistance from hotel staff, forced open the door to gain entry. Inside the room, investigators discovered the woman's body lying on the bed, partially covered with a blanket. Visible bloodstains on the bedding indicated violent struggle had occurred prior to her death.
Investigation and Forensic Examination
Teams from the elite Crime Branch and the Forensic Science Laboratory conducted thorough examinations of the crime scene, collecting crucial evidence that would later prove instrumental in the investigation. Police determined through hotel records that the woman had checked into the establishment on Wednesday afternoon accompanied by a man who subsequently left the premises.
The victim, identified as an accountant by profession, had been in a relationship with the accused for approximately two years according to preliminary police findings. Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly called the woman to the hotel room where the fatal incident occurred.

Tiwari is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree through Delhi University's School of Open Learning while simultaneously working as an accountant at a shop in the historic Chandni Chowk area.
During police questioning, Tiwari made startling claims that the woman had recently been coercing him to enter into marriage against his wishes. Investigators stated that according to his confession, he allegedly strangled the woman in the hotel room before fleeing the scene in an attempt to evade authorities.
