Bhopal Girl Seriously Injured in Late-Night Street Altercation
A five-year-old girl in Bhopal sustained serious injuries after being struck on the head by a sharp object during a street fight late Wednesday night. The incident occurred near LBS Road in the Shahjahanabad area, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Disturbing Incident
The child, identified as Miral Ahmed, was returning home with her father, Faizan Ahmed, 35, when the unfortunate event unfolded. Faizan, a resident of Indra Vihar Colony on Airport Road and an employee at the post office, was walking with his daughter after visiting her maternal uncle's house on Noor Mahal Road.
The incident took place between 11:30 pm and 11:45 pm on Wednesday, March 25. As they passed through a lane near Coffee House, they encountered a group of unidentified youths engaged in a heated argument that escalated into physical violence.
Father's Attempt to Avoid Danger
Faizan Ahmed, recognizing the potential danger, attempted to steer clear of the confrontation and moved ahead with his young daughter. However, the scuffle between the youths intensified and brought them uncomfortably close to the father-daughter duo.
After walking some distance from the scene, young Miral began complaining of severe pain in her head. Her concerned father immediately checked and discovered a significant injury with active bleeding. Police investigators suspect that during the violent altercation, the child was accidentally struck by a sharp weapon wielded by one of the youths involved in the fight.
Police Response and Investigation Status
Following the traumatic incident, Faizan Ahmed promptly approached the Shahjehanabad police station to file an official complaint. Authorities have registered a case based on his statement and have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
Despite their efforts, police officials have yet to identify the individuals responsible for the altercation that led to the child's injury. The investigation remains active as law enforcement officers work to piece together the events of that night and locate the perpetrators.
This incident highlights growing concerns about public safety in urban areas, particularly during late hours when such violent encounters can unexpectedly endanger innocent bystanders, including vulnerable children.
