Bengaluru BTech Graduate Reported Missing After Two-Month Delay in Police Complaint

A 22-year-old BTech graduate, Vetrimaran K, has been reported missing from his grandparents' residence in Vasanthnagar, Bengaluru, since January 17. His family approached the police nearly two months later, on March 10, filing a formal complaint.

Family Details and Background of the Missing Youth

The complaint was lodged by his mother, who works as an HR professional at a private firm. According to the family, Vetrimaran had a history of leaving home on previous occasions but typically returned within a month. This time, however, his absence has extended beyond the usual period, raising concerns.

Family members informed the police that Vetrimaran showed little interest in pursuing a career after completing his engineering degree last year. Instead, he was deeply inclined towards spirituality, often expressing a desire to reside in ashrams and mutts where he could access free food and lead a minimalist lifestyle.

Recent Movements and Disappearance Incident

The family primarily lives in Chikkabidarakallu on Tumakuru Road, but since 2024, Vetrimaran had been spending most of his time at his grandparents' house in Vasanthnagar. After returning from a trip on January 9 this year, he reportedly agreed to search for a job and stayed with his grandparents.

On January 17, while his grandparents were briefly out of the house, Vetrimaran told his mother over the phone that he felt disrespected at home. He then took his mobile phone and motorcycle and left the premises, not returning since.

Past Travels and Police Action

In the past, Vetrimaran had traveled to various cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, and Kurukshetra, always eventually coming back home. The High Grounds police have now registered a case based on the family's complaint and are investigating the matter further.

The delay in reporting the disappearance has added complexity to the search efforts, with authorities urging the public to provide any relevant information that could assist in locating the young graduate.
