A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from Agra, where a 35-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stabbing his five-month-pregnant wife to death. The incident, which occurred in Rampur village under the Nagla Singhi police station, has sent shockwaves through the community.

Police reported that the attack took place on Friday afternoon when Govind Kumar, 35, attacked his wife, Seema, 32, with a sword. He stabbed her repeatedly in the stomach, killing her on the spot. Swift Police Action Leads to Arrest
Following an alert about the crime, Firozabad SSP Saurabh Dixit constituted two police teams to apprehend the accused. SP (City) Ravi Shanker Prasad confirmed that a case was registered against Govind under section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Acting on a tip-off, the Nagla Singhi police team successfully arrested Govind and recovered the murder weapon.

Govind was addicted to alcohol and often quarreled with Seema, who supported the family by rearing livestock and raising their three children. Police believe the murder was premeditated, as Govind had purchased the sword three months ago from Karauli, Rajasthan, and was waiting for an opportunity to execute the crime.

On Friday morning, Govind's sister Laxmi took the couple's daughters to a local fair, leaving Seema alone at home with her six-month-old infant. Seizing this chance, Govind allegedly carried out the brutal attack.
