Narmadapuram Murder: 4 Held for Farmer's Killing Over Occult Revenge
4 Arrested for Farmer's Murder in Narmadapuram

A shocking case of murder driven by superstition and a thirst for vengeance has come to light in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district. Police have arrested four individuals, including two juveniles, for the brutal killing of a young farmer whose body was set on fire to destroy evidence.

Grudge Rooted in Occult Blame

The investigation reveals a grim motive behind the crime. The prime accused, Sushil Nagvanshi, allegedly held a deep grudge against the family of the victim, 20-year-old Chandan Nagvanshi. This resentment stemmed from a tragic event last month when Sushil's mother died suddenly. Practitioners of occult rituals reportedly blamed neighbors, including Chandan's family, for her death, planting the seeds of revenge in Sushil's mind.

The Fateful Night and Brutal Attack

Chandan, a resident of Jabali village under the Makhan Nagar police station, left his home on his motorcycle on December 23. His family reported him missing the following day. Police scrutiny of CCTV footage showed Chandan heading towards Budhni with four acquaintances but not returning with them.

As per the police, the accused lured Chandan under the pretext of attending a party. The group consumed alcohol at multiple locations before taking the heavily intoxicated young man to a secluded forested area near Midghat. There, in a brutal assault, they allegedly bludgeoned him to death using stones.

Attempt to Destroy Evidence and Swift Crackdown

In a desperate bid to cover their tracks, the perpetrators poured petrol on Chandan's body and his motorcycle and set them ablaze in the forest near Budhni. However, police teams, acting on the missing report and digital evidence, recovered the charred remains, the burnt motorcycle, Chandan's mobile phone, and a silver chain from the crime scene.

A murder case was promptly registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. All four accused were taken into custody. Narmadapuram SP Sai Krishna Thota commended the investigating team and announced a reward for their work in cracking the case swiftly.

The arrest of the two adult accused and the two juveniles highlights a disturbing blend of archaic beliefs and violent crime, leading to a senseless loss of a young life.
