PM Publishers Partners with Google to Bring AI-Powered Learning to 2M+ Students
Google Gemini AI Integrated into School Textbooks by PM Publishers

In a significant move to modernize classroom learning, PM Publishers, a stalwart in Indian school education since 2009, has forged a strategic partnership with tech giant Google. The collaboration aims to deeply integrate Google's advanced artificial intelligence assistant, Gemini, into the traditional textbook experience, promising to turn passive studying into a dynamic, interactive journey.

A New Chapter in Learning: AI Meets Textbook

Scheduled for launch in the 2026-27 academic year, this ambitious initiative will see Google Gemini embedded across more than 250 book titles published by PMP. The integration will span a wide range of subjects including computer science, English, Hindi, art & craft, general knowledge, and foundational subjects, catering to students from nursery all the way up to class 10.

The rollout is projected to make a substantial impact from its very first phase, with expectations to reach over 2 million students across more than 2,000 schools nationwide. The AI tool is being designed with age-appropriate functionality in mind. For older students, it will act as a powerful aid for independent learning, while for younger children, it will serve as a digital companion for their parents, helping to break down complex concepts and nurture curiosity at home.

How the AI-Powered Textbook Works

The core of this innovation lies in specialized QR codes that will be printed in every PMP textbook. Scanning these codes will connect students to a custom Gemini "Gem" – a version of the AI assistant that has been meticulously fine-tuned to align with the specific content of that particular textbook. This ensures the AI's responses are always relevant and curriculum-accurate.

Once activated, this personalized AI tutor will offer students a suite of learning aids, which are expected to include:

  • Concise chapter summaries for quick revision.
  • Interactive activities to reinforce concepts.
  • Access to additional learning resources and explanations.

The system is engineered to provide context-aware, textbook-grounded answers whenever a student poses a question, moving beyond simple information retrieval to foster deeper understanding.

Vision for a Future-Ready Education System

Leaders from both companies have expressed strong optimism about the partnership's potential to reshape educational outcomes. Rajesh Bajaj, Managing Director of PM Publishers Pvt. Ltd., stated that their primary goal is to make learning more engaging, interactive, and prepared for the future. He emphasized that Google Gemini provides a powerful tool to amplify student curiosity, support creative thinking, and promote the responsible application of AI in educational settings.

Echoing this sentiment, Sanjay Jain, Head of Google for Education in India, shared Google's philosophy that AI should act as a companion that ignites curiosity, not just an answer-finding machine. By weaving Gemini directly into PM Publishers' trusted curriculum, the partnership aims to deliver a personal AI tutor that enhances both the classroom and at-home learning experience, grounded in the authoritative content of textbooks.

This landmark collaboration between a leading educational publisher and a global technology leader marks a pivotal step towards a more personalized and interactive learning paradigm for millions of young minds in India.
