DMK Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin Mobilizes Party Cadres in Karur
In a strategic move to bolster electoral preparedness, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin convened a closed-door meeting with DMK functionaries in Karur on Monday. The gathering focused on intensifying grassroots outreach efforts as the party gears up for an upcoming electoral push.
Intensive Door-to-Door Campaign Planned
According to insider sources, Udhayanidhi Stalin issued clear directives to members of the DMK youth wing, instructing them to launch an extensive door-to-door campaign across the western zone. This intensive public engagement initiative is scheduled to run for the next full month, aiming to connect directly with voters at the household level.
Series of Consultative Meetings Across Western Tamil Nadu
Earlier on Monday, the deputy chief minister had already conducted consultative sessions with youth wing functionaries in both Coimbatore and Erode. These meetings brought together cadres from multiple districts including Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Namakkal, and Erode. Following these engagements, Udhayanidhi proceeded to Karur where he addressed another gathering specifically involving youth wing members from the Karur district.
Focus on Dravidian Model Achievements and Public Engagement
During his address in Karur, Udhayanidhi Stalin emphasized the critical importance of direct public engagement at the grassroots level. He urged party cadres to actively highlight the various welfare schemes and developmental initiatives implemented during the DMK government's five-year tenure under what the party terms the "Dravidian Model" of governance.
The deputy chief minister called upon party workers to actively seek public support to secure what he described as a renewed mandate for continued governance. He framed this effort as essential for advancing what he termed "Dravidian Model 2.0" in the state.
Sharp Criticism of National Democratic Alliance
In his remarks, Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a pointed critique against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He alleged that the alliance had "betrayed Tamil Nadu" and characterized it as an entity "assembled in Delhi," suggesting a disconnect from regional interests and priorities.
Key Attendees at Karur Meeting
The meeting in Karur saw the presence of several prominent local leaders. Among those in attendance was Karur MLA V Senthil Balaji, alongside numerous other youth wing functionaries from the surrounding region. Their participation underscored the coordinated effort to mobilize the party's organizational structure at the district level.
This series of meetings represents a concerted effort by the DMK leadership to energize its cadre base and strengthen its ground-level presence as political activities intensify in Tamil Nadu. The focus on the western zone indicates a targeted approach to consolidating support in key regions ahead of potential electoral contests.
