TMC Ramps Up Campaign Efforts in Barak Valley Ahead of Polls
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has significantly intensified its political campaign in Assam's Barak Valley region in preparation for the upcoming elections. Former Indian cricketer and party MP Yusuf Pathan is at the forefront of this aggressive push, leading a series of rallies across multiple constituencies. Pathan has expressed strong confidence in the party's electoral prospects, highlighting a positive reception from voters.
Pathan's Campaign Trail and Optimistic Statements
On Monday, Yusuf Pathan campaigned actively in key areas including Sonai, North Karimganj, and South Karimganj. He reported an "amazing" response from the electorate, stating, "We are fully confident of our candidates' victory. TMC is contesting 22 seats in Assam and we are hopeful of winning all of them." Pathan also made broader political predictions, asserting that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would retain power in her state and set her sights on national politics for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
Momentum Builds with Evening Roadshow
The campaign gained further momentum in the evening with a massive roadshow in South Karimganj, led by party candidate Aziz Ahmed Khan. Addressing the media during this event, Pathan emphasized the significance of the turnout, saying, "This unprecedented gathering reflects people's desire for change. The support we are witnessing makes us confident that our candidate's victory is only a matter of time." The roadshow underscored the party's efforts to mobilize support and create a wave of enthusiasm among voters in the region.
The TMC's focused campaign in Barak Valley signals a strategic move to expand its influence beyond West Bengal, with Pathan's celebrity status and grassroots engagement playing a pivotal role. As the election date approaches, the party aims to capitalize on this momentum to secure a strong performance in Assam.
