Rs 11 Lakh Development Works Inaugurated in Mohali

In a significant push for rural infrastructure, Anandpur Sahib Member of Parliament Malvinder Singh Kang and Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh on Saturday inaugurated multiple development projects worth Rs 11 lakh across villages in the Mohali Assembly constituency. The works, aimed at enhancing public facilities and promoting fitness, were launched in Manak Majra, Giga Majra, and Manakpur Kallar villages.

Boosting Fitness and Safety with New Amenities

The newly inaugurated projects focus on health and public safety. Utilizing the MP's discretionary fund, open gyms costing Rs 3 lakh each were set up in all three villages to encourage a healthy lifestyle among the youth. Additionally, benches worth Rs 1 lakh were installed at Giga Majra, and 15 solar lights costing Rs 1 lakh were installed at Manak Majra to improve street lighting and enhance security.

Addressing the public, MLA Kulwant Singh emphasized the government's focus on youth wellness. He stated that the open gyms were established to steer young people towards sports and physical fitness, potentially keeping them away from drug abuse. He added that the improved solar lighting would help deter theft and criminal activities in the area.

Punjab's Massive Sports Infrastructure Push

Highlighting a larger state-wide initiative, MLA Singh revealed that 3,200 sports grounds are currently being developed across Punjab. He further announced that a proposal is in place to develop 34 sports grounds specifically within the Mohali Assembly constituency. This, according to him, is a cornerstone in the mission to build a healthier Punjab.

Both leaders asserted that the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government is committed to fulfilling its promises and ensuring no part of the constituency is left behind in development. Singh claimed that a development wave is sweeping Punjab, encompassing gyms, solar lights, road networks, and drainage repairs, with long-pending works now being prioritized.

Focus on Execution and Public Welfare

Criticizing previous administrations, MLA Singh accused them of making empty promises, contrasting it with the current government's delivery of tangible projects. He stressed that the aim is not just to lay foundation stones but to complete works within a fixed timeframe and provide real facilities to citizens.

In a major announcement for public health, Singh declared that a Rs 10 lakh health insurance scheme will be available to every resident of Punjab starting January 7. He assured that there is no shortage of funds for development and promised a transformed constituency in the coming days.

During the inauguration event, officials were directed to maintain high-quality standards in all works. A large number of local residents expressed their appreciation, noting the strengthening of basic infrastructure and sports facilities in their villages.
