Major Infrastructure and Welfare Push in Chhindwara: 105 Projects Launched
In a significant boost to infrastructure and social welfare, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the rollout of 105 development projects across the Chhindwara district on Thursday. The comprehensive initiative, valued at more than Rs 500 crore, spans multiple sectors including roads, housing, education, and water supply, aiming to enhance connectivity and public amenities in the region.
Key Projects and Financial Transfers
The development package includes the construction of the Tamia–Junnardeo road, built at a cost of Rs 133 crore, which will connect two districts and improve regional accessibility. Other notable projects involve works under the Nal-Jal scheme for water supply, police housing units, secondary school buildings, and hostels, all designed to address critical infrastructure gaps.
Alongside these projects, Chief Minister Yadav facilitated large-scale financial transfers to support workers and pension beneficiaries. Through a single click, Rs 157 crore was transferred under the Sambal Yojana to the accounts of 7,008 workers across the state. Additionally, Rs 463 crore was disbursed to over 55 lakh beneficiaries under various social security pension schemes, totaling Rs 620 crore in welfare funds.
Focus on Pilgrimage and Heritage Development
In his address, CM Yadav highlighted the state government's efforts to connect heritage with development, particularly following the construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. He announced plans to develop Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh as a major pilgrimage centre, with ongoing work on the Ram Van Gaman Path to enhance religious tourism.
Facilities are also being upgraded at several key religious sites, including Mahakal in Ujjain, Jamsawli Hanuman Dham, and the Sharada temple in Satna, recognizing them as important pilgrimage destinations. This initiative aims to boost cultural and spiritual tourism while integrating it with broader economic development.
Regional Impact and Future Prospects
Member of Parliament Bunty Vivek Sahu emphasized the dual focus on industrial growth and social infrastructure, noting that new schools and hostels are being established alongside industrial projects. He pointed out that the Tamia–Junnardeo road will enhance inter-district connectivity, while the previously announced development of an airport in Chhindwara is expected to give the region a new identity and spur economic growth.
This multi-faceted approach underscores the state government's commitment to holistic development, combining infrastructure upgrades with welfare measures to improve the quality of life for residents and foster sustainable progress in Chhindwara and beyond.
