Annamalai: Stalin's Son-in-Law Acting as 'Super CM' in Tamil Nadu

BJP Leader Annamalai Slams DMK Over 'Super CM' Allegations and Highlights Development Work

In a sharp political attack, BJP Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai on Friday accused Chief Minister M K Stalin's son-in-law V Sabareesan of functioning like a "super CM" by allegedly moving around with government officials and utilizing state machinery for political purposes.

Allegations Against DMK Leadership

Addressing a gathering in Coimbatore, Annamalai pointed out that Sabareesan was not actively involved in politics previously but is now trying to mobilize support for the DMK out of fear of the party's potential defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. The BJP leader suggested this represents an improper use of administrative resources for partisan gain.

Showcasing BJP's Development Initiatives

The comments came during the release of a report detailing development initiatives undertaken by BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan in the Coimbatore South constituency. According to the report prepared by an NGO, several welfare schemes have made significant impacts:

  • The 'Amudham' scheme has benefited approximately 2,500 new mothers through the supply of fresh milk
  • Free sanitary napkins have been distributed to women under another dedicated initiative
  • About 1,500 women have transformed into entrepreneurs through the 'Suyam' scheme
  • 150 fatherless girls have received education and festival assistance under the 'Modi Magal' scheme
  • Clean drinking water has been provided to communities through water ATMs

Delimitation Discussion and Political Appeals

On the national issue of delimitation, Annamalai clarified that the draft bill could only be passed if opposition members also voted in favor of it in parliament. He emphasized that the exercise would be carried out without altering the overall proportional balance between regions.

The BJP leader made several key assertions about the delimitation process:

  1. South India would not be adversely affected in any way
  2. The process would not be based solely on population criteria
  3. The number of MPs from South India is expected to increase from 129 to 195 after delimitation

Annamalai also appealed to women voters to oppose political parties that take contradictory stands in parliament on important issues affecting women's welfare.

Vanathi Srinivasan's Campaign Efforts

Speaking at the same event, BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan revealed that despite being on rest for a week due to health issues, party workers had ensured uninterrupted campaigning in her constituency. She referenced her previous electoral victory against veteran actor Kamal Haasan, noting that people had supported her to bring about change.

"My development schemes have benefited people across all communities without discrimination," Srinivasan stated, adding that Annamalai's presence was helping to strengthen the BJP's campaign efforts in the region.

The event highlighted the ongoing political tensions in Tamil Nadu as parties position themselves ahead of crucial elections, with the BJP seeking to contrast what it portrays as DMK's dynastic politics against its own development-focused governance model.
