Karnataka's Minister of Industries, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, and Tourism, HK Patil, has expressed cautious optimism regarding the attention given to Karnataka tourism in the Union Budget 2026-27, while simultaneously highlighting significant concerns about the state's fair share of central funds and the implementation of tax reforms.

Speaking to the media in Haveri on Sunday, Minister HK Patil acknowledged that he had heard parts of the Union Budget presentation. He noted that the budget discussions specifically focused on enhancing Karnataka's tourism sector, with particular emphasis on development in the coastal region and the promotion of medical tourism. "I welcome the proposal to train tourism guides and the decision on the fast trial of the Bangalore railway," Patil stated, recognizing these as positive steps toward boosting the state's tourism infrastructure.

"There should be no doubt about the government; SITs are not formed just for the sake of it.
