Eight Delhi Schools Receive Bomb Threats Following Gurgaon Incidents

In a concerning development, eight prominent private schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Thursday morning, prompting immediate emergency evacuations and comprehensive security searches by authorities. The Delhi Police confirmed that the threats arrived via email between 8.15 am and 9.30 am, creating panic among students, parents, and staff members across the capital.

Schools Affected and Immediate Response

The schools targeted include some of Delhi's most well-known institutions:

  • Sardar Patel Vidyalaya (SPV)
  • Loreto School in Delhi Cantonment
  • Two branches of Mount Carmel School in Dwarka Sector 23
  • Anand Niketan
  • Don Bosco School in CR Park
  • Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road
  • Birla Vidya Niketan
  • Amity School

Officials reported that Bomb Disposal Squads, Bomb Disposal Teams, and Delhi Fire Services tenders were all rushed to the affected locations as a precautionary measure. The swift response involved multiple security agencies working in coordination to ensure student and staff safety.

Threats Declared Hoax After Thorough Investigations

Following detailed inspections of all campuses, authorities have declared the threats to be hoaxes. According to a statement from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, "the bomb threat was declared a hoax by the Delhi Police after a thorough inspection of the entire campus." The school administration confirmed that classes would resume as usual, with the premises declared completely safe for use.

Police officers specifically noted that the threat at Mount Carmel School in Dwarka has also been confirmed as a hoax. No suspicious items were found in most of the schools, providing relief to the educational community. Cyber crime teams are actively tracking the source of the threatening emails to identify the perpetrators behind these alarming communications.

Pattern of Similar Incidents in NCR

This latest wave of threats comes just one day after eight schools in Gurgaon and the Dwarka court in Delhi received similar bomb threats, which were also subsequently declared hoaxes. The Gurgaon incidents on Wednesday morning affected schools including Kunskapsskolan at DLF Phase 1, Lancers International School at Sector 53, Heritage Xperiential Learning School at Sector 64, and Pathways World School at Badshahpur, with SDRF teams conducting searches.

These events form part of a disturbing pattern of similar hoax threats that have been reported across parts of the National Capital Region over the past three years. The recurrence of such incidents raises serious concerns about security protocols in educational institutions and the psychological impact on young students who experience these evacuation drills and threat scenarios.

Educational authorities and law enforcement agencies are now reviewing security measures and communication protocols to better handle such situations while minimizing disruption to academic activities. The Delhi Police has assured increased vigilance and monitoring of educational institutions across the capital region.
