Family of Three Brutally Murdered in Daltonganj Over Black Magic Allegations
In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, three members of a family were brutally hacked to death in Daltonganj after being accused of practicing black magic. The gruesome attack occurred on Sunday at Purani Bathan Kusri village in Aasehar panchayat, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Panki police station.
Victims Identified as Husband, Wife, and Teenage Son
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Bhuiyan (50), his wife Hemanti Devi (45), and their 18-year-old son Chotu. According to police reports, another member of the family sustained critical injuries during the attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police Launch Manhunt for Prime Accused Brothers
Lesliganj subdivisional police officer Manoj Kumar, who visited the village following the incident, confirmed that intensive raids are being conducted to apprehend two men: Pramod Bhuiyan and his brother Ravindra. These individuals have been named as the prime accused in this horrific triple murder case.
"The axe blows were mostly concentrated on their necks," stated Officer Kumar, highlighting the brutal nature of the assault. The investigation has revealed a tragic backstory that allegedly triggered this violent outburst.
Alleged Motive: Blaming Black Magic for Father's Death
The police investigation indicates that Maheshi Bhuiyan (65), a resident of the same village, passed away on Sunday due to a prolonged illness. His sons, Pramod and Ravindra, reportedly accused Vijay Bhuiyan of practicing black magic, which they believed caused their father's demise.
In what appears to be a fit of rage and misguided vengeance, the duo allegedly attacked Vijay's family home, resulting in the tragic deaths of three family members and leaving one survivor fighting for her life.
Survivor Battles Critical Injuries
Sangeeta Kumari, Vijay's daughter, miraculously survived the brutal attack. "This young girl was rushed to the community health centre in Panki with deep cuts on her neck," explained Palamu civil surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar Sriwastwa. "After receiving initial treatment, she was referred to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital in Daltonganj for specialized care."
The medical team is working tirelessly to stabilize her condition, though she remains in critical condition with severe injuries from the assault.
Community Reels from Superstition-Driven Violence
This tragic incident has once again brought to light the dangerous consequences of deep-rooted superstitions and vigilante justice in rural communities. Local authorities have emphasized the importance of legal recourse rather than taking matters into one's own hands, regardless of personal beliefs or suspicions.
The Panki police station has registered a case and is pursuing all leads to ensure the swift apprehension of the accused brothers. Community leaders have called for calm and urged residents to rely on proper legal channels rather than resorting to violence based on unsubstantiated allegations.
