UP Police DGP's New Year Call: Modern Tech, Proactive Policing Key to Safer State
UP DGP Urges Police to Adopt Tech, Become Proactive Guardians

In a powerful New Year address, Uttar Pradesh's Director General of Police (DGP), Rajeev Krishna, laid out a transformative vision for the state's police force. He called upon constables, Station House Officers (SHOs), and non-gazetted officers to embrace the new year as a moment for profound renewal in their vision, direction, and commitment to duty.

A New Year, A Renewed Resolve for Modern Policing

DGP Krishna emphasised that the transition into the new year signifies far more than a simple calendar change. He framed it as a crucial opportunity to strengthen resolve, integrate cutting-edge technology, and accelerate the modernization of policing across Uttar Pradesh. The senior officer stressed that technology must be viewed not just as an operational tool, but as the new consciousness of the UP Police force.

He urged all personnel to commit to continuously updating their skills and to employ modern resources with the highest levels of sensitivity and ethical responsibility. This approach, he believes, is fundamental to evolving the force's capabilities.

Shifting from Reaction to Prevention: The Proactive Policing Model

A central pillar of DGP Krishna's message was the urgent need to move beyond reactive law enforcement. He championed a model of proactive policing focused on anticipation, prevention, and outcome-based action.

"We must become guardians who prevent crime before it occurs," stated the DGP, outlining an ambitious goal. His vision is to transform Uttar Pradesh into a state where every step for a criminal carries risk and every criminal attempt fails. This shift requires officers to be forward-thinking and intelligence-driven in their daily operations.

Human Judgement and Teamwork: The Bedrock of a Future-Ready Force

While advocating for technological adoption, DGP Rajeev Krishna also highlighted the indispensable human elements of policing. He affirmed that teamwork, sound human judgement, and unwavering ethical conduct remain the core strengths of any police force.

He concluded that it is the fusion of these timeless qualities with modern technology that will make the UP Police more capable, trusted, and ready for future challenges. Expressing his pride in his colleagues, the DGP concluded his message by wishing the entire UP Police family a joyous, peaceful, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
