A severe road accident late Friday night on the Gangaghat-Chilaula road in Unnao district has left three young men with serious injuries. The incident involved a head-on collision between an SUV and a motorcycle near Pasinkheda village.

Details of the Unnao Collision

The accident occurred when an SUV and a motorcycle, carrying three youths, collided head-on. The motorcycle riders have been identified as Sanjay Rawat (20), Rajput Sonkar (18), and Sanjay Sonkar (16). All three were riding on the same two-wheeler at the time of the crash. The impact was so forceful that the motorcycle was severely damaged, and all three occupants were thrown onto the road, sustaining critical injuries.

SUV Catches Fire, Occupants Escape

Following the collision, the SUV skidded off the road and fell into a roadside ditch. In a dramatic turn of events, the vehicle suddenly caught fire. All occupants of the SUV managed to escape in time and were reported to be safe. However, within moments, the flames completely engulfed the vehicle, reducing it to ashes.

Emergency Response and Treatment

Police from the Kotwali Sadar station rushed to the spot after receiving information. With assistance from local villagers, they rushed the injured youths to the Unnao District Hospital for primary treatment.

Due to his critical condition, Sanjay Rawat was referred to the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur for advanced medical care. The other two injured individuals, Rajput Sonkar and Sanjay Sonkar, are currently undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

A fire brigade team also reached the location and, after strenuous efforts, managed to douse the blazing SUV. The prompt action by the police and fire department personnel prevented the flames from spreading to nearby areas.

The incident highlights the dangers of overloading on two-wheelers and underscores the critical need for road safety on rural and semi-urban stretches, especially during night hours.
