The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road. The car first collided with a tree along the roadside before flipping onto its side, resulting in catastrophic damage.
Local residents and police personnel swiftly responded to the scene, rushing the injured to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention. Despite these efforts, two of the young occupants succumbed to their injuries, highlighting the severity of the impact.
Victims Identified by Authorities
The police have identified the deceased as:
- Varad Tambe (18) – A resident of Otur.
- Karan Pavale (19) – Hailing from Pirangut in Mulshi taluka.
The injured individuals, who are currently undergoing treatment, are:
- Abhinav Wakchaure – From Ahilyanagar district, receiving care at a private hospital in Otur.
- Omkar Shinde – Also from Ahilyanagar district, being treated at a separate private hospital in Ale Phata.
An officer from the Otur police station confirmed the sequence of events, stating that the driver's loss of control led to the car leaving the roadway, hitting a tree, and ultimately turning on its side. The officer emphasized that Tambe and Pavale tragically died from their injuries, underscoring the fatal nature of the crash.
