Details of the Heartbreaking Collision

According to police reports, the bus driver, identified as Abbas, had parked the vehicle near his residence in Dumaria village after dropping off children at a school in the Jamunaha locality under Kateya police station. While Abbas went to have breakfast, his elder brother, Safaruddin, took the keys and attempted to drive the bus without authorization.

The bus quickly went out of control, veering off and crashing directly into a nearby hut where the victims were sleeping. The impact proved fatal for two young cousins: Arish, aged 4, son of Zahiruddin, and Intaz, aged 2, son of Mumtaz. A woman present in the hut sustained injuries and was promptly rushed to a local hospital, where she is currently receiving medical treatment.

Immediate Police Response and Investigation

Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from Gopalpur police station swiftly arrived at the scene. The bodies of the deceased children were sent to Sadar Hospital in Gopalganj for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
