In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old transgender individual was discovered murdered inside a makeshift tent in Chennai on Saturday. The grim discovery was made off the Vanagaram service road, sending shockwaves through the local community and prompting an intensive police investigation.
Victim's Identity and Last Movements
The deceased, aged 36, was a resident of Chettiyar Agaram, located near Maduravoyal. According to police sources, the victim worked as a sex worker and was a frequent visitor to the Vanagaram service road area. She was last seen alive on the service road on Friday night, just hours before the tragic discovery of her body.
Brutal Assault and Discovery of the Body
Investigators have pieced together a preliminary sequence of events. They suspect that the victim was taken by some individuals to a nearby tin shed in the Indira Nagar locality. It was there that she was brutally assaulted and killed. Her lifeless body was found on Saturday morning, lying in a pool of blood inside the temporary structure.
Local residents alerted the authorities, following which a team from the Vanagaram police station rushed to the crime scene. The body was then sent to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital (KMC) for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence.
