Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Three Lives in Gurgaon Village
In a devastating incident late Friday evening, three members of a family lost their lives after being struck by a speeding and rashly driven Mahindra Thar in Khor village, located in the Pataudi area of Gurgaon. The victims have been identified as 70-year-old Subash and his two young grandsons, Ishant (8) and Zaid (10).
Details of the Fatal Accident
According to police reports, the tragedy unfolded around 11:30 PM when Subash was taking a leisurely stroll with his daughter's sons on a street near their home. A Mahindra Thar, driven at high speed and in a reckless manner, hit the trio from the rear side. The impact caused critical injuries to all three victims.
They were immediately rushed to a local hospital in Pataudi for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of their condition, they were later referred to the civil hospital in Gurgaon. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, all three succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Police Investigation and Driver's Escape
The driver of the Thar fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle at the spot. Upon receiving information, the Pataudi police promptly arrived at the location. They secured the area and sent the bodies to a local mortuary for further procedures.
A police officer involved in the case provided additional context, stating, "The children had traveled from Alwar to visit their grandfather during the holidays. After dinner, they were walking near their house when the Thar crushed them. The driver is currently absconding, but we are confident he will be apprehended soon."
