In a significant move to combat organized criminal activities, the Rajkot city crime branch has invoked the stringent Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GujCTOC) Act against seven members of the notorious Ibla gang operating within the B Division police station area. Arrests and Custody Details

Police officials have confirmed that four accused individuals have been arrested, while two others are currently in judicial custody. The gang, led by Ibrahim alias Ibla Kathrotiya, has been active in Rajkot for several years, engaging in a wide range of illicit activities that have plagued the community.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Jagdish Bangarwa emphasized the gang's extensive criminal history, stating that it has been involved in organized operations over a prolonged period. According to police reports, the Ibla gang is linked to a staggering 89 offences registered between 2016 and 2025. This includes 27 serious crimes such as:

  • Attempted murder
  • Kidnapping
  • Robbery
  • Violations under the Arms Act
  • Obstruction of public servants

Further breakdown of the gang's activities reveals:

  1. Four cases of attempted murder
  2. Five instances of robbery and kidnapping
  3. Eleven offences related to unlawful assembly
  4. Twenty-nine assault cases
  5. Five cases under the Atrocities Act
  6. Thirty-four cases involving liquor, gambling, and Arms Act violations
  7. One case each of molestation and obstruction of police duty

Identified Accused and Legal Proceedings

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Salim alias Saliyo Kathrotiya
  • Mehbub alias Memlo Kathrotiya
  • Ashraf Kathrotiya
  • Lakhan Kamejadia

Additionally, Ibrahim alias Ibla Kathrotiya and his associate Javed alias Javlo Kathrotiya, who are currently incarcerated, will be taken into custody and produced before a court to seek remand. This ensures that all key members of the gang are brought to justice under the provisions of the GujCTOC Act.
