Security Guard in Pune Severely Assaulted After Refusing Entry to Two Men
A 26-year-old security guard working at a residential housing society in the Mohammadwadi area of Pune was violently assaulted by two individuals on Thursday evening. The attack occurred after the guard courageously denied them entry, as they were not residents and attempted to force their way into the premises.

The confrontation took place at approximately 7:30 PM outside the Ganga Kingston Housing Society. According to police reports, the two men approached the exit gate and tried to enter without authorization. When the guard stopped them and refused access, the situation escalated dramatically.
The assailants allegedly picked up a stick and struck the guard on the head, causing a significant injury. The entire assault was recorded by the society's comprehensive CCTV surveillance system, providing clear evidence of the crime.
Immediate Aftermath and Medical Treatment
The injured security guard was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention. Medical professionals treated his head wound, which required between six and seven stitches to close properly. Following treatment, the guard filed an official complaint with the local authorities.
Based on his complaint and the CCTV footage evidence, the Kale Padal police station registered a formal case against the two suspects. Law enforcement acted swiftly, arresting both individuals the following day on Friday.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Arvind Vinayak Gade, aged 21, and Gangapur Mahadev Gawai, aged 22. "When the security guard stopped them from entering without proper authorization, they responded with physical violence," Inspector Patil explained, emphasizing that the guard was merely performing his professional duties.

Resident Jaymala Dhankikar noted that the attackers specifically tried to enter through the exit gate, bypassing proper entry procedures.
Dhankikar further revealed that the society has previously experienced issues with trespassers climbing over compound walls. "We have reported suspected drug peddlers and unidentified individuals loitering in our area on multiple occasions," she stated. "While increased police patrolling initially reduced these incidents, the problem appears to be resurfacing with concerning frequency."
Additional Resident Testimonies and Observations
Another resident, Anzar Rade Deshmukh, provided additional context, suggesting the attackers appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during the incident. "The security guard was simply performing his duty according to society regulations," Deshmukh emphasized. "No outsider is permitted entry without confirmation from a flat owner, yet these men attempted to force their way through the incorrect gate."
Deshmukh confirmed that no society member has identified the arrested men as their guests, further highlighting the unauthorized nature of their attempted entry. Residents have collectively expressed growing concerns about neighborhood safety deterioration, attributing it partly to rapid commercial development in the surrounding area.
