In a significant development for global aviation, Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of limited flight operations to and from Doha, as the situation in West Asia remains tense. This move comes as a relief for passengers stranded due to recent disruptions in the Gulf region.

The airline has resumed limited services to key international destinations, including Delhi, Mumbai, Istanbul, Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, Algiers, Melbourne, New York, Jeddah, Cairo, Madrid, Hong Kong, London, Casablanca, Rome, and Paris. These flights are specifically designed to assist passengers affected by the ongoing crisis, with Qatar Airways emphasizing that this does not mark a full return to scheduled commercial operations.
In a statement, Qatar Airways clarified, "These flights do not constitute confirmation of the resumption of scheduled commercial operations." The airline advised passengers to only arrive at departure airports if they hold a valid, confirmed ticket, as flight availability remains restricted due to the closure of Qatari airspace.
Broader Aviation Disruptions Across the Region
The resumption of Qatar Airways flights occurs against a backdrop of widespread operational challenges in the Middle East. Other major airlines, including IndiGo and Air India, have issued advisories regarding flight disruptions, particularly to the United Arab Emirates. IndiGo reported that flight operations in Dubai have faced further restrictions, leading to schedule modifications.
Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express have curtailed several scheduled flights on March 15, following instructions from UAE airport authorities. For instance, Air India will operate only one Delhi-Dubai return flight, cancelling four out of five planned services, while Air India Express has cancelled five out of six scheduled Dubai flights.
