Noida Airport Inauguration: Comprehensive Traffic Advisory and Parking Plan Issued for March 28 Event
In preparation for the highly anticipated inauguration of the Noida airport on March 28, the Noida traffic police have released a detailed advisory and a comprehensive parking plan. The authorities have finalized specific routes for delegates traveling from Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Bulandshahr to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the landmark event.
Traffic Restrictions and Parking Arrangements
DCP (Traffic) Noida Shailendra Kumar Singh announced that the movement of goods vehicles on the Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and in the vicinity of the Jewar airport will be strictly prohibited between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM on Saturday, March 28. However, emergency service vehicles will be permitted to operate without any restrictions to maintain public safety.
To accommodate the expected influx of attendees, officials have established 15 separate parking lots on the airport campus. These facilities are designed to park approximately 14,700 heavy and medium vehicles alongside 5,000 two-wheelers. The parking areas have been strategically allocated with separate spaces reserved for VIPs, media personnel, and the general public.
Designated Entry Points and Routes for Different Attendees
VIP attendees will enter the airport premises via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link road, which connects to the Yamuna Expressway at the 32-kilometer milestone. From there, they will be directed to parking lots 1, 2, and 3, with shuttle services provided to transport them to the main venue. Media representatives will access the site through the Kishorpur gate, where parking lot number 8 has been designated for their vehicles.
Additionally, parking spaces 10 and 15 are exclusively reserved for police and administration vehicles to facilitate security and logistical operations. For visitors arriving from Meerut and Ghaziabad via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the exit point is the Sirsa toll plaza, followed by a route passing Galgotias University and Dayanatpur to reach the airport. Those coming from Aligarh and Mathura should exit at the Jewar toll plaza and proceed via the Sabauta cut.
General Traffic Management and Political Outreach
Traffic police officials stated that while traffic is expected to flow normally, diversions will be implemented if traffic pressure escalates. All heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles will be restricted from entering the city and will be redirected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Commuters are advised to contact the emergency helpline number 9971009001 for any urgent assistance during the event.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders are actively engaging with local communities by visiting various villages in Noida, Greater Noida, and Bulandshahr to invite residents to participate in the inauguration ceremony. GB Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma, who recently visited Sikkandrabad, emphasized the transformative impact of the airport's commercial operations. He highlighted that the airport will generate substantial employment opportunities, inject fresh momentum into regional trade and industry, and significantly enhance connectivity across the area.
Sharma also noted the widespread excitement among residents regarding the expected attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It is estimated that nearly one lakh people will attend the inaugural program, marking a historic moment for the region's infrastructure development.
