Visakhapatnam Navy Technician Confesses to Gruesome Murder and Dismemberment
In a shocking and gruesome case that has sent shockwaves through Visakhapatnam, a 35-year-old Navy technician has allegedly confessed to murdering a 29-year-old woman, dismembering her body, and storing parts in a refrigerator at his residence. The accused, identified as Ch Ravindra, surrendered himself at a police station, leading to the discovery of this horrific crime.
Details of the Crime and Investigation
The incident occurred at Ravindra's house in LV Nagar, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Gajuwaka police limits. According to police reports, the victim, Mounika, was a resident of the city and had been in a relationship with the accused. Ravindra is married, and his wife had reportedly traveled to her hometown in Vizianagaram several weeks prior, leaving him alone at the home.
Investigators revealed that Ravindra invited Mounika to his house on Sunday afternoon, March 29. The two spent several hours together before an argument erupted in the evening. During this altercation, Ravindra allegedly killed Mounika inside the residence.
Following the murder, the accused took drastic and horrifying steps:
- He dismembered the victim's body into multiple parts.
- Some of these body parts were packed into a bag and disposed of at an isolated location.
- The remaining remains were stored inside a refrigerator within the house.
Surrender and Police Recovery Efforts
Hours after committing the crime, Ravindra walked into a police station and surrendered, providing a full confession to the killing. Acting on his statement, police teams immediately launched a search operation at his residence.
During the search, officers recovered several body parts from the house. However, a critical piece of evidence remains missing: the victim's head. Authorities suspect that Ravindra disposed of the head separately from the other body parts.
In response to this development, a special police team has been formed with the primary objectives of:
- Locating the missing head and any other undiscovered remains.
- Piecing together the complete sequence of events that led to the murder and subsequent actions.
- Ensuring a thorough investigation to support potential legal proceedings.
Background and Relationship Dynamics
The case highlights troubling relationship dynamics between the accused and victim. Ravindra, employed as a technician in the Navy, was alone at home due to his wife's absence. Mounika, aged 29, was known to him and had maintained a relationship with the married technician.
Police believe that the argument that led to the killing escalated suddenly during the evening hours. The precise nature of the dispute remains under investigation, but it resulted in fatal violence followed by the extreme measures of dismemberment and concealment.
This case continues to develop as investigators work to uncover all aspects of the crime and ensure justice for the victim.
