In a separate but related development, police also arrested another accused, Mohammed Ashraf, a 38-year-old resident of Veerakamba in Bantwal. Ashraf was wanted in connection with a case registered at the Bantwal police station and had been absconding, failing to appear before the Bantwal ACJ & JMFC Court. Authorities revealed that more than 10 warrants had been issued against Ashraf, underscoring the severity of his evasion and the persistent efforts required to locate him.
