In a tragic incident that has sparked widespread concern over the influence of social media, a 22-year-old man died by suicide in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, after broadcasting his final moments live on Instagram. Police confirmed the event on Saturday, noting it occurred late on Friday night under the jurisdiction of the Dehat police station.

According to Station House Officer Vikas Yadav, the man, identified as Manoj Rajak, initiated a live stream on Instagram shortly before taking the extreme step. During the broadcast, Rajak waved at his friends and blew kisses before hanging himself from a noose attached to a ceiling fan. The entire act was captured in a 14-minute video that later circulated online, amplifying the distress among viewers and authorities.
Background and Investigation
Rajak, who worked as a plumber and also sold ready-made garments from his rented room, had been living alone following the death of his mother and his father's remarriage. Friends described him as a quiet and well-mannered individual. One friend, Shubham Rajak, recounted that they rushed to his room after seeing the distressing visuals on Instagram around 10:30 PM, but arrived too late to save him.
Police reported that no suicide note was found at the scene. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination and subsequently handed over to the family. As part of the ongoing investigation, officials have seized Rajak's mobile phone and are scrutinizing his social media activity to understand the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
