Police in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district have arrested a man after a disturbing video surfaced online, allegedly showing him subjecting a dog to abuse and forcing the animal to consume an intoxicating substance from a liquor bottle.

The incident came to light after a video clip began circulating on various social media platforms. The footage, which quickly sparked outrage among netizens, purportedly showed the accused, identified as Jitendra, alias Ballam, a resident of Kirthal village, engaging in acts of cruelty against the dog.
Officials stated that the video clearly depicted the man making the canine drink from a bottle of liquor. Following the video's widespread circulation, the Baghpat social media cell and the Ramala police station took immediate cognisance of the matter and launched a formal inquiry into the incident.

The police acted swiftly on the findings of their inquiry. Jitendra was arrested on Sunday from the area falling under the jurisdiction of the Ramala police station. Law enforcement authorities have confirmed that a formal case has been registered against the accused.
