Land Dispute Turns Fatal in Rohtas District: 32-Year-Old Man Beaten to Death
A tragic incident unfolded in Muradabad village under the Mufassil police station area of Rohtas district on Tuesday, where a 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death during a violent clash stemming from a land dispute. The victim, identified as Hasan Raza Khan, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the trauma centre of Sasaram Sadar Hospital, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Escalation of Tensions Leads to Brutal Assault
According to police sources, the incident originated from an ongoing dispute related to the buying and selling of land, which had been simmering for the past week and created significant tension between the victim and a group of villagers. On Tuesday, the situation escalated dramatically into a brutal assault. The accused reportedly attacked Khan with sticks and other objects, leaving him critically injured with severe wounds to his head, legs, and multiple other parts of his body.
The Dial 112 emergency response team rushed to the spot upon receiving information and immediately shifted the victim to the hospital. Despite prompt medical attention, Khan died shortly after being admitted, highlighting the severity of the attack.
Family Alleges Targeted Attack Amid Land Matter
The victim's mother has come forward with allegations, stating that her son was attacked by miscreants from the same village. She emphasized that while Hasan Raza Khan had no direct personal dispute with anyone, his association with people involved in the land matter may have made him a target. She further revealed that her son was a driver by profession and served as the sole breadwinner for the family, compounding the tragedy with economic hardship.
Police Action and Recovery of Weapons
Acting swiftly in response to the incident, the police have detained three suspects from the village for questioning. During subsequent raids, officials reportedly recovered two country-made firearms and live cartridges from a house and a garage, though official confirmation on this recovery is still awaited. This development suggests the potential for further violence in the dispute.
Mufassil police station in-charge Rajeev Ranjan Singh has confirmed the incident, noting that the body has been sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family members. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full details behind this fatal confrontation.
