Jhansi Police Takes Strict Action Against 23 Constables for Unauthorized Absence
The Jhansi Police on Monday suspended 23 constables for remaining absent from duty without authorization for more than 30 days, firmly rejecting viral social media claims that linked the disciplinary action to the Uttar Pradesh sub-inspector recruitment examination. Police authorities have termed these reports as "misleading and factually incorrect," emphasizing that the suspensions were solely based on prolonged unauthorized absence and had no connection whatsoever with any examination or preparation leave.
Comprehensive Review Reveals Serious Violations
According to officials, a thorough and comprehensive review of attendance records across various police stations and units in the Jhansi district uncovered that these 23 constables were absent without prior intimation or sanctioned leave for an extended period exceeding one full month. Such conduct, officials stated, constitutes a serious violation of established police service rules and fundamental discipline protocols within the force.
Strict Disciplinary Measures Implemented
Taking strict cognizance of the matter, Jhansi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) BBGTS Murthy ordered the immediate suspension of all 23 personnel in strict accordance with departmental norms and regulations. Simultaneously, formal departmental inquiries have been initiated to determine the appropriate further action against the erring constables, which could include more severe penalties depending on the findings.
Police Emphasize Discipline and Accountability
Senior police officers reiterated that maintaining strict discipline and accountability within the police force remains an unwavering priority. They warned that any dereliction of duty or violation of service rules will inevitably invite strict and swift consequences to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the department. The Jhansi Police also made a public appeal, urging citizens to refrain from circulating unverified and speculative information on social media platforms, which can spread misinformation and undermine public trust.
This decisive action underscores the Jhansi Police's commitment to enforcing discipline and ensuring that all personnel adhere to their duties responsibly, without any tolerance for unauthorized absences that compromise law and order operations in the district.
