According to Nandyal Superintendent of Police Suneel Sheoran, the accused has been identified as Sohail Khan, aged 38, a resident of Gaddelahalli in the Bengaluru north area. Khan, who is reportedly addicted to various vices, has a long history of criminal activities, particularly in house break-in offences.

Sohail Khan was involved in multiple house break-in cases reported in various locations, including:

Despite being sent to jail in connection with house break-in cases registered in Hasan district, Khan did not reform his ways. He subsequently shifted his base to Nandyal district and continued his criminal activities.

Since 2015, Sohail Khan has been actively involved in house break-in offences in both Atmakur and Nandyal areas. The district police wing maintained close surveillance on his movements, leading to his eventual capture.

Arrest Near SRBC Canal in Velugodu

The police successfully nabbed Sohail Khan near the SRBC canal close to Velugodu on Sunday. This strategic location was part of the meticulous monitoring operation conducted by law enforcement officials.

Substantial Gold Recovery from Accused

Upon arrest, police recovered gold ornaments weighing 42 tulas from the possession of the accused. The estimated value of these stolen items is approximately ₹65 lakh, representing a significant recovery for the victims of these crimes.
