Hoshiarpur Police Thwart Major Robbery Plan, Arrest Seven Gang Members
In a significant crackdown, the Garhdiwala police in Hoshiarpur have successfully averted a major criminal incident by arresting seven members of a notorious gang. The arrests were made while the suspects were allegedly in the advanced stages of planning a robbery at a local shop, showcasing the police's proactive efforts in maintaining law and order.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests
Acting on a crucial tip-off, a police team led by SHO Satpal Singh Bajwa was on routine patrolling duty at Adda Ram Tatwali when they received information about the gang's activities. The informant revealed that the armed group was hiding in the forest area of village Mohalla Ranjitgarh Dhussi bundh, preparing to execute their plan.
DSP-Tanda Davinder Singh Bajwa stated that the gang, known for its involvement in organized crime, was reportedly acting on instructions from an associate currently incarcerated in jail. This connection highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces with criminal networks operating from behind bars.
Recovery of Weapons and Vehicles
During the raid, police recovered a cache of lethal weapons, including a .32 bore pistol and several sharp-edged instruments. Additionally, two vehicles—a car and a motorcycle—used by the accused were impounded. These seizures are expected to disrupt the gang's operational capabilities and provide evidence for further legal proceedings.

The arrested gang members have been identified as:
- Ankirat, alias Keerat, from Gurdaspur
- Jaskirat Singh, alias Jassa, from Garhdiwala
- Jagjit Singh, alias Rikki, from Hariana
- Taranjit Singh, alias Taran
- Gursharan Singh, alias Gora, from Bullowal
- Harvinder Singh, alias Monu, from SBS Nagar
- Lovepreet Singh, alias Lovely, from SBS Nagar
These individuals are now in police custody and will be produced in court to seek remand for further interrogation. The police are continuing their investigations to uncover more details about the gang's activities and potential links to other crimes.
