Daily Wager Arrested in Dumka for Heinous Double Murder

In a shocking incident from Dumka district, Jharkhand, police have arrested a resident of Gando village under the Muffasil police station on charges of murdering a woman and her six-year-old daughter. The arrest was made on Friday, following a thorough investigation into the gruesome crime that occurred on February 10.

Accused Identified as Jainul Haq

The accused has been identified as Jainul Haq, also known as Jainul Ansari, a daily wage laborer. According to Dumka Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar, the tragic events unfolded after the deceased woman, accompanied by her young daughter, arrived in the town a few days prior. She had reportedly left her home following a dispute with her husband.

Finding her alone and without shelter, Ansari allegedly exploited her vulnerable situation. On the night of February 10, he lured the woman under the pretense of offering assistance. When she resisted his attempt to rape her, he punched her multiple times in the chest, resulting in her death. To avoid being identified, he then strangled her minor daughter.

Bodies Abandoned and Evidence Seized

The bodies were abandoned at a secluded location on February 11. Police stated that the accused has confessed to the crime and was sent to judicial custody on Saturday. An FIR was promptly lodged at the local police station, leading to the formation of a special investigation team to probe the case thoroughly.

During the investigation, authorities seized crucial evidence, including the woman's bag, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, PAN card, clothing, mobile phone, and Rs 5,200 in cash. It was revealed that Ansari had taken these items after the murders and tore up her documents in an effort to conceal her identity.

Community and Legal Response

This horrific crime has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting concerns over safety and justice in the region. The police have assured that the investigation is ongoing to ensure all aspects of the case are covered. The swift arrest and confession are seen as critical steps toward delivering justice for the victims and their family.

The case underscores the need for heightened vigilance and support systems for vulnerable individuals, especially women and children in distress. Authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities to prevent such tragedies in the future.
