Hyundai Motor India today launched the new 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric SUV in the Indian market at a price of Rs 55.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated electric SUV features a larger battery pack, revised styling, additional technology, and enhanced safety features.
The new model is priced Rs 12.10 lakh higher than the outgoing model, which was listed at Rs 43.60 lakh (ex-showroom). This price increase reflects improvements in range and efficiency, along with exterior design changes that give the model a more contemporary appearance.
Interested customers can book the new Ioniq 5 online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered in Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey, and Optic White exterior shades, all paired with an Obsidian Black interior theme. Built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 5 continues as the company's flagship electric model in India.
Battery and Range
The new Ioniq 5 comes with a larger 84 kWh battery pack, replacing the earlier 72.6 kWh unit. It has a claimed ARAI-certified driving range of up to 690 km on a single full charge. Hyundai has not disclosed power figures for the India-spec model. However, in global markets, the rear-wheel-drive version with the 84 kWh battery delivers 229 hp and 350 Nm of torque.
Exterior Design Changes
Exterior updates include revised front and rear bumpers, updated skid plates, a new alloy wheel design, a redesigned rear spoiler, and a new V-garnish lighting element. The design continues with Hyundai's Parametric Pixel design language.
Interior and Technology Upgrades
Inside, the cabin sees usability-focused updates. It now features a three-spoke leather steering wheel with an illuminated four-dot pixel design and heating function, along with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation. The wireless charging pad has also been redesigned to include physical controls for heated and ventilated seats.
Technology upgrades include Hyundai's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) functionality. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have been added, along with Active Sound Design. The model also introduces remote immobilisation via Hyundai Bluelink and an in-car payment system for EV charging.
Safety Enhancements
Safety updates include the addition of Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (rear) and a side Parking Distance Warning system to aid manoeuvrability in tight spaces.
