The victim has been identified as Hitesh, who worked at a furniture factory in Sanand. He lived with his parents and sister in a rented house in Bharwadvas. His sister, Jyoti, filed a formal police complaint following the tragic event.
Inspector R N Patel stated that the police have registered a case against the unidentified man and are actively reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the assailant. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to piece together the events leading up to the murder.
Eyewitness Account from Sister Jyoti
In her complaint, Jyoti provided a detailed account of the incident. She explained that the family had finished dinner around 8pm and were sleeping in an open space outside their home due to the warm weather. At approximately 2:30am, she was awakened by the sounds of an attack.
"I saw a thin and tall man, wearing a jacket and a cap, striking my brother in the stomach with a sharp weapon," Jyoti stated in her complaint. "I shouted, asking why he was attacking my brother, and the unknown man immediately ran away."
She tried to wake Hitesh but received no response, noting that he was bleeding profusely from severe injuries. The neighbours quickly gathered at the scene, and an ambulance was called. However, upon arrival, a doctor declared Hitesh dead, prompting the family to inform the police.
