Southern Railway Empowers Women RPF Personnel with Specialized Training Ahead of Summer Travel Rush
In preparation for the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the summer vacation period, Southern Railway has launched a comprehensive training initiative for its women Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff. This program is specifically designed to equip female constables with enhanced skills in crowd management, security protocols, and improved passenger service delivery at railway stations and aboard trains.

The training initiative was implemented in response to the significant deployment of women constables across stations and train duties. For instance, within the Thiruvananthapuram division alone, 96 out of 446 RPF personnel are women, highlighting their critical role in frontline operations. A senior railway official emphasized that this is a capacity-building exercise aimed at empowering women personnel by boosting their professional competencies, personal resilience, and overall well-being. Titled 'Celebrating Strength, Safety & Resilience', the training sessions provide in-depth insights into various challenges faced by women in the force, along with practical solutions. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including:

More than 100 women RPF officers and staff from multiple divisions of Southern Railway participated in these sessions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
