Gujarat Opens Online Applications for Gyan Sahayak Positions
The Gujarat education department has officially announced the commencement of online applications for Gyan Sahayak positions across government and grant-in-aid schools throughout the state. The application window will remain open from December 2 to December 12, marking a significant recruitment drive to address teaching vacancies in primary, secondary, and higher secondary institutions.
Application Process and Key Dates
Prospective candidates can submit their applications through the designated online portal during the specified dates. Following the application period, the education department will prepare a merit list based on the received applications, with appointments being made according to the ranking. This recruitment initiative comes as a replacement for the discontinued migrant teacher scheme, with Gyan Sahayaks providing essential academic support until permanent teaching positions can be filled.
Despite contract renewals earlier this year, numerous teaching positions remain vacant across the state, prompting repeated demands for fresh recruitment. The current drive aims to address this shortage by offering 11-month contracts at various school levels.
Eligibility Criteria and Remuneration Details
The education department has established clear eligibility parameters for applicants. For primary-level Gyan Sahayak positions, the maximum age limit is set at 40 years, while secondary and higher secondary level candidates can be up to 45 years old.
The monthly remuneration structure has been fixed at ₹21,000 for primary level, ₹24,000 for secondary level, and ₹26,000 for higher secondary level positions. Selected candidates will be required to participate in document verification processes, bringing printed copies of their online applications, photocopies of relevant certificates, passport-sized photographs, and original documents when summoned.
Notification Errors Create Confusion
Potential applicants have encountered confusion due to discrepancies in the official notification. The advertisement states that online registration will begin on Monday, though December 2 actually falls on a Tuesday. Similarly, the notification mentions Wednesday, December 12 as the closing date, while December 12 is actually a Friday.
Despite these date inconsistencies, the education department has clarified that applications will indeed be accepted between December 2 and December 12. Following the application period, the selection list will be published, with appointments being issued based on available vacancies in schools across Gujarat.
This recruitment drive represents a crucial step toward strengthening the educational framework in Gujarat by addressing the persistent shortage of teaching staff in government and aided schools.
