GSHSEB Announces Schedule for Class 12 Science Practical Examinations
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has officially released the timetable for the upcoming Class 12 science practical examinations. These crucial assessments are scheduled to take place from February 5 to February 13, 2024, across various examination centers throughout the state of Gujarat.
Massive Student Participation Expected
According to board officials, more than 1 lakh students are anticipated to participate in these science practical exams. This significant number highlights the importance of these assessments in the academic calendar for Gujarat's higher secondary students.
Comprehensive Examination Schedule
The practical examinations represent just one component of the broader board examination process. The GSHSEB has confirmed that the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will commence on February 26, 2024. All examination centers have been finalized well in advance, with practicals to be conducted according to specific time slots determined by the board authorities.
Enhanced Examination Monitoring
To ensure transparency and maintain examination integrity, the GSHSEB has implemented several important measures:
- External observers appointed by district education officers will be present at every examination center alongside internal examiners
- All centers must ensure complete availability of required science laboratory equipment
- Centers have been explicitly warned against making alternative arrangements in case of any equipment shortages
Hall Ticket Distribution Process
The board has streamlined the hall ticket distribution process through digital means:
- Hall tickets for practical examinations have been uploaded to the official GSHSEB website
- Schools can access these hall tickets by logging in using their unique index number along with their registered mobile number or email ID
- Schools are responsible for verifying, signing, and stamping the hall tickets before distributing them to students
New Anti-Manipulation Measure Implemented
In a significant development for this examination cycle, the GSHSEB has introduced a new protocol to prevent potential mark manipulation. Center superintendents are now required to submit students' marks to the board on the same day the examination is conducted. This immediate reporting system aims to eliminate any possibility of irregularities in the evaluation process.
The board's comprehensive preparations reflect its commitment to conducting fair and transparent examinations for Gujarat's secondary and higher secondary students. With practical examinations beginning in early February and theoretical papers starting later in the month, students across the state are now entering the crucial final phase of their academic preparation.
