CBSE Reschedules Shahjahanpur Career Guidance Programme for Principals to Dec 30
CBSE Shahjahanpur Principals' Programme on Dec 30

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the new date for its crucial orientation programme aimed at principals and counsellors in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The event, which was postponed earlier this year due to adverse weather conditions, is now set to take place on December 30, 2025. This offline session is designed to empower school leaders with the latest tools and knowledge for effective student career counselling.

Programme Details and Revised Schedule

The orientation programme will be conducted in person at the Seth M. R. Jaipuria School in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh (242001). Participants are expected to report by 9:30 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, for pre-programme formalities. The main session will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Board had initially postponed the event following an advisory on August 11, 2025, citing rising river water levels in the region. A formal circular communicating this postponement was issued on August 14, 2025.

Registration for the event is mandatory and operates on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited seats. Interested principals, vice-principals, and counsellors from CBSE-affiliated schools in the Shahjahanpur region must register online using the official Google Forms link. There is no registration fee for attending. However, participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Confirmation emails will be sent to selected participants after their registration is processed.

Aligning School Counselling with National Education Policy 2020

A core objective of this orientation is to align school-level career counselling practices with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The NEP places a strong emphasis on establishing robust and structured counselling systems to help students make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. This programme is a direct step by CBSE to operationalise this goal at the grassroots level.

The session aims to equip school leaders with practical tools and updated insights into several key areas. These include understanding the landscape of competitive entrance examinations, exploring emerging and diverse career pathways, and mastering effective student guidance strategies. The focus will extend to sharing vital information on higher education opportunities, scholarships, and internships available to students.

Expected Outcomes and Participant Eligibility

By the end of the programme, CBSE expects participants to be better equipped to guide their students. The anticipated outcomes include enhancing awareness of new-age career options, strengthening the school's internal career guidance mechanism, and fostering a counselling environment that supports students in navigating complex education and career landscapes.

The programme is exclusively open to Principals, Vice Principals, and Counsellors working in CBSE-affiliated schools located in the Shahjahanpur region of Uttar Pradesh. Eligible representatives are strongly encouraged to register promptly to secure a spot and contribute to building a stronger career guidance framework within their institutions.
