Chetna Training Centre Marks 29 Years, Launches Therapy Resource Room in Varanasi
BLW's Chetna Centre 29th Anniversary: New Therapy Room Inaugurated

The Chetna Training Centre, a beacon of support for children with special needs in Varanasi, celebrated a significant milestone as it marked its 29th anniversary. The event, held on Saturday at the Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) premises, was a vibrant testament to the centre's enduring commitment to empowerment and education.

A Landmark Celebration and New Initiatives

The anniversary programme was formally inaugurated by Monika Srivastava, the President of the BLW Women Welfare Organization, which operates the centre. The highlight of the event was the inauguration of a dedicated Resource Room, a facility set to significantly enhance the support provided to the students.

This new Resource Room is designed to offer specialized interventions, including speech therapy and occupational therapy. These services are crucial for the holistic development of children facing various learning and developmental challenges, providing them with tailored support to improve communication, motor skills, and daily living activities.

Enhanced Safety and Educational Infrastructure

Prioritizing the safety and security of the children, the centre has been equipped with CCTV cameras. Furthermore, to aid in interactive learning, a television has been installed for educational purposes, creating a more engaging and modern learning environment.

During the ceremony, Ritika Singh, the Secretary of the Women Welfare Organization, presented the annual report of the Chetna Training Centre, outlining the year's achievements and future goals.

Cultural Extravaganza and Student Support

The students themselves were at the heart of the celebrations, presenting a captivating cultural programme. Their performances included soulful devotional songs (bhajans) and expressive dance numbers, showcasing their talents and confidence.

In a gesture of continued support, uniforms, bags, and water bottles were distributed among the students. This initiative ensures that the children have the essential tools and attire needed for their daily routine at the centre.

The 29th-anniversary event not only commemorated nearly three decades of service but also reinforced the centre's forward-looking vision. With the launch of the new therapy Resource Room and upgraded facilities, the Chetna Training Centre is poised to continue its vital role in nurturing and empowering special needs children in the Varanasi community for years to come.
