The Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh has taken a significant step toward enhancing digital learning for girls. In Lucknow, officials from the department joined forces with the Madad Foundation. Together, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to kickstart a new educational initiative.
Tablets Distributed to Schools in Two Districts
Under this agreement, the program has already begun its work. Authorities provided twenty tablets each to the Jayprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Balika Vidyalayas. These schools are located in the Gorakhpur and Maharajganj districts of Uttar Pradesh. The tablets aim to give students direct access to digital resources.
Expansion Plans for More Schools
This is just the beginning of a broader effort. The project will expand to other schools across the state in the coming months. Officials hope to reach more students with these technological tools soon.
Minister Highlights Importance of Digital Education
Minister of State for Social Welfare, Asim Arun, spoke about the initiative. He holds independent charge of the department. Arun emphasized that digital education has become essential in today's world. He stated that through these technological resources, girl students will receive quality education.
"This will help them become self-reliant and confident," the minister added. He connected the effort to larger state goals. "This initiative aligns with the empowerment of girls," Arun explained.
Linking to State and National Visions
The minister further noted the program's connection to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's vision. It supports the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, which focuses on saving and educating the girl child. Additionally, the initiative falls under the Digital India mission, promoting technology use across the country.
This partnership between the government and a foundation shows a committed push for educational advancement. By providing tablets, they aim to bridge the digital divide for young girls in Uttar Pradesh.
