Bharathidasan University Seminar on Business Innovation Trends

Trichy's Bharathidasan University recently became a hub for academic discourse on contemporary business challenges through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). The institution successfully hosted a two-day international seminar focusing on the Dynamics of Emerging Business Innovation and Trends, with a special emphasis on the role of academia and industry in shaping future economic landscapes.

Expert Insights on Global Economic Challenges

The seminar featured distinguished speakers from around the world who provided valuable perspectives on pressing business issues. Sankaran Venkateswar, a professor at Saint Mary's College of California, delivered a keynote address analyzing the impact of US tariffs on the Indian economy. His presentation highlighted both the challenges faced by Indian exporters and the potential opportunities for economic diversification in response to these trade policies.

Sustainable Practices and Academic Recognition

Another significant contribution came from Veera Pandiyan Kaliani Sundram of Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, who shared insights on best practices for sustainable supply chain management. His lecture emphasized how businesses can integrate environmental and social considerations into their operations while maintaining profitability.

On the second day of the event, S B Nageswara Rao from Annamalai University explored an innovative topic: the science of happiness in commerce and management. This session examined how psychological well-being and positive organizational behavior can contribute to business success and employee satisfaction.

Research Contributions and Academic Milestones

The seminar served as a platform for extensive scholarly exchange, with more than 50 research papers presented by academics and researchers from across India. These presentations covered diverse aspects of business innovation, management practices, and industry trends.

In addition to the academic discussions, the event marked significant milestones for The SMART Journal of Business Management Studies, one of the organizing partners. The journal conducted its 17th award function to recognize outstanding contributions to business management research, while simultaneously releasing the 22nd issue of its publication.

Bridging Academia and Industry

This international seminar successfully created a dialogue between academic researchers and industry practitioners, addressing how educational institutions can better prepare students for evolving business environments. The discussions emphasized:

  • The importance of adapting business education to global economic shifts
  • Strategies for enhancing India's export competitiveness
  • Incorporating sustainability into business curriculum and practice
  • The role of positive psychology in organizational management

The event demonstrated Bharathidasan University's commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and addressing contemporary business challenges through research and dialogue.
