Tata Punch Facelift Launches: Turbo Engine, Six Airbags

Tata Motors is launching the updated Tata Punch today, on January 13, 2026. This marks the first major facelift for the popular micro-SUV since its original debut. The new model brings significant changes both inside and outside the vehicle. We are providing live updates, key highlights, and first impressions from the launch event right here in our blog.

Enhanced Safety Features Take Center Stage

Safety receives a major upgrade in the facelifted Punch. The new version comes standard with six airbags. It also includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and reverse parking sensors. These features aim to provide better protection for occupants.

Best-Selling Model of 2024

The Tata Punch achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024. It emerged as the best-selling car of the year. This marks the first time in over four decades that a model not from Maruti Suzuki has claimed the top spot in sales. The Punch's popularity continues to grow in the Indian market.

New Turbo-Petrol Engine Option

Alongside the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and CNG options, Tata introduces a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine is expected to produce 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, offering a more powerful driving experience.

Streamlined Variants and Colour Choices

Tata has simplified the Punch lineup to six variants. These include Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S. Buyers can choose from six colour options. The available colours are Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Coorg Clouds, Cyantafic, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White.

Refreshed Exterior Design

The 2026 Tata Punch maintains its boxy and compact stance but receives a sharper appearance. Key design updates include slim LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a blacked-out grille, new LED headlamps, and redesigned bumpers. These elements give the front a fresher look.

At the rear, connected LED tail-lamps and a revised bumper add a modern touch. The sides feature new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The facelift aims to keep the Punch competitive in the micro-SUV segment.
