The death toll in the tragic accident at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) has risen to nine, as another injured worker, Pydiraju, succumbed to severe burns. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Viral Video of Worker's Final Moments
A heart-wrenching video of Pydiraju lying on a stretcher has gone viral on social media. In the clip, he instructs his elder son Varma to look after his mother and ensure the education of his younger brother. The video was reportedly recorded while he was being transported to the hospital.
Worker's Background
Pydiraju, affectionately known as 'Cable Raju', hailed from Gangavaram village. He was responsible for managing the cable network at the plant. Another worker, Suribabu, remains in critical condition.
SAIL Expert Committee Investigation
A three-member expert committee from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is investigating the incident. The committee is expected to submit its report to the government this week.
