Meteorologists attributed the activity to intense surface heating triggering localised convection typical of pre-monsoon conditions. However, the relief is expected to be temporary, with heatwave conditions likely to intensify over the coming days, especially in north and east Telangana.

The India Meteorological Department said, 'Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is very likely at isolated places in Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.'
